Provide assistance to scientific and technical staff within the Queensland Mycobacterium Reference Laboratory, Microbiology Division. Rostered shifts include day shift may include weekend shifts as required. The Pathology Assistant in Queensland Mycobacterium Reference Laboratory reports to the Chief Scientist.
The successful candidate will prepare specimens using microbiology media, stains and reagents for local testing, or transport to referral laboratories.

- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, procedure, policies and regulations which impact on the position, in particular the Queensland Health Code of Conduct, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded, e.g. appropriate TAFE qualification such as Certificate in Laboratory Techniques, or equivalent.
