South Perth Hospital Incorporated (SPH) is a not for profit private 95 bed hospital with five (5) operating rooms and a procedure room. Our Mission Statement is to provide to the Community of Western Australia a modern health facility where caring and dedicated staff can provide excellent services. SPH is seeking an experienced CLINICAL CODER to join our coding team.

About you
- Recognised degree or qualification in ICD-10-AM coding, for example, completion of Intermediate Level Certificate or above Clinical coder certification as approved by the Health Information Management Association of Australia
- Experience coding with the Australian Version of The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and Australian Standards, Australian Classification of Health Intervention (ACHI) and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
- Strong attention to detail and provision of high quality work.
- Accurate and timely coding of inpatient separations in accordance with Hospital, State and National Standards.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience in Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG) assignment for Activity Based Funding.
- Ability to manage and prioritise own work.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Previous experience in a tertiary or private hospital is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diseases, and pathological processes.
- Ability to attend SPH to undertake work. Working remotely is not available.
