We have permanent opportunities for trainee's commencing their Clinical Coding career to join our friendly, well established team across the district. As we have a scanned medical record environment, you will get experience across eight acute facilities as well as two Multi Purpose Services and two acute mental health inpatient facilities.
Requirements:
· Clinical Coder (Administration Officer Level 4) -
Successful completion of a recognised ICD-10AM, ACHI & ACS coding course from HIMAA, OTEN or TAFE.
A skills test will be undertaken at the interview to gauge the coding level and grading level of the applicant.

What you'll be doing
Apply basic analytical and problem solving capabilities with an understanding of coding conventions/standards/practice to abstract, interpret and convert simple clinical documentation into ICD-10-AM codes with an acceptable productivity rate to accurately represent disease processes and procedures relating to inpatient episodes of care to enable funding, research, epidemiology and Service Planning.
Selection Criteria * Currently hold a Certificate of Attainment from HIMAA Introductory ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding course in Clinical Classification (ICD-10-AM current edition or previous edition) or HLT37315 Certificate lll Health Administration (Clinical Coding).
- Have a detailed understanding what is expected from the Southern NSW LHD Clinical Coding Trainee Mentoring Program.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of information systems such as MS Office, specifically with Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities to meet conflicting deadlines with minimal supervision to achieve effective outcomes.
