Clinical Nurse Educator
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) position in our Clinical Education and Practice Development Team.
We are seeking an experienced and driven CNE who is committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff. You will have a strong focus on nursing education and a drive to enhance the skills and knowledge our staff in our Residential Care Facilities across the ACT and southern NSW region.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering education resources that reflect best practice as well as supporting the development of clinical competencies aligned to Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Standards, resident needs, and organisational requirements.

We are seeking an applicant who is committed to ongoing professional development with a strong focus on nursing education. The ideal candidate will possess experience in clinical nursing education, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the motivation to share knowledge with and develop others.
You will have excellent clinical teaching and competency-based assessment skills and have a clear understanding of the use of contemporary information systems required to inform the development of specialty education programs within the aged care sector.
Skills required
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Minimum 5 years' experience in clinical education setting
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles and how they apply to the clinical teaching environment
- Demonstrated clinical teaching & facilitation skills including knowledge of competency frameworks and assessment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel to RSL LifeCare Residential Care and Home Care sites
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervision of clinical practice, mentoring and coaching of care teams
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders
- High level of organisation and time management skills

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
