This is a full time, continuing appointment and will be based mostly at the Mater Health Services North Queensland (Mater) in Pimlico and Hyde Park.
How you’ll make a difference
With a commitment to providing outstanding medical education and training to the next generation of healthcare professionals, we are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Facilitator to join our team and support the clinical training of our medical students. As a Clinical Facilitator, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting medical students through their clinical rotations whilst at the Mater Health Services campus as well as the Townsville University Campus of the Townsville Clinical School. You will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment, ensuring that students gain the most out of their clinical rotations to excel in their medical careers.
What you’ll bring
- Health professional qualifications and experience in the supervision of students in clinical placements and demonstrated ability to facilitate learning opportunities.
- Experience with teaching and assessment in a health discipline at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
- Strong knowledge of clinical practices, protocols, and medical education principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams and educational staff.
- Ability to manage and work effectively in a small, dispersed team.
About the Townsville Clinical School
JCU offers the only undergraduate medicine degree in North Queensland. This program equips students with the skills and confidence to diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, preparing them to become patient-centered and socially responsible healthcare practitioners. Students gain in-depth knowledge of rural and remote medicine through extensive practical experience, which enhances their understanding of the personal, professional, and ethical responsibilities of medical practitioners. Additionally, they develop crucial skills in clinical pathology and patient management
