Expressions of interest are sought from suitably qualified nursing staff for a Student Nurse Facilitator/Educator at the Clinic. This position will be full-time 45.6 hours per fortnight (negotiable).
The role of the Clinical Educator is to identify relevant skills needed by Currumbin Clinic and ensure that training programs are delivered to support skill gaps and ongoing professional development that will enhance departmental performance. Education will include both Mandatory training for staff and VMOs and seeking out and delivering evidence based best practice training for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
The Student Nurse Facilitator will coordinate the Medical and Nursing Student Programs. The role encompasses best practice clinical nursing care, education and leadership. You will be responsible for the programs, utilisation of resources as well as building and maintaining relationships with tertiary providers. You must be flexible in your working hours to accommodate the supervision in various hospital shift times.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent qualification).
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Minimum 3 Years).
- Certificate IV in Training Assessment and Education (TAE or equivalent).
- Mental Health experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Mental Health qualification desirable or commitment to post grad studies.

- Demonstrated ability in team leadership, performance management and change management.
- Excellent communication, computer literacy and liaison skills.
- Display and mentor professional behaviour, providing a safe learning environment.
- Commitment to higher learning and knowledge of evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff education in line with Currumbin Clinic policies and procedures.
- Ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training.
- Liaison and coordination of all nursing student placements and partnered universities.
- Facilitation of the placement program and completion of required relevant assessment documentation for each student.

It is also mandatory by Queensland Health that all employees in the Private Health sector are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of double vaccination is a requirement to work in healthcare.
- You will also be required to provide current serology for vaccinations including Hep B, Dtpa, MMR and varicella.
- A current police check (dated within the last three months).
