About the role
The Clinical Intake Nurse Coordinator (CINC) role is pivotal within the Community Services Team as it serves as the initial point of contact for all Karuna patients and their families.
We are seeking a highly motivated registered nurse who combines clinical expertise with strong communication and administrative skills, along with a compassionate approach to patient interaction.
Responsibilities include reviewing and triaging referrals, scheduling patient visits and phone calls, triaging urgent patient enquiries, providing support to the clinical team, and maintaining accurate records. The role may also include patient visits as needed.
This is a job share position where both team members are required to provide coverage for each other during periods of annual and long service leave.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, preferably in palliative care.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to effectively engage and collaborate with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, external health care providers and referrers.
- High level of proficiency in the use of business software and clinical care relationship management applications.
Requirements for the role:
- Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current QLD Type C class driver's licence.
