About the role
Brisbane Private Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified Clinical Lead/ Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our established Drug and Alcohol Unit on a full-time permanent basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.

Damascus Health Services is a 44 bed unit located in Brisbane Private Hospital in Spring Hill. We provide a confidential and flexible approach to the care and treatment of people with problems related to the use of alcohol and/or prescribed and over-the-counter drugs
As the Clinical Lead your responsibilities will include:
- Identify educational needs by partnering with Nursing Leaders (i.e. DON, NUM, CNS) and Clinical Support Functions (i.e. Quality, Infection Control)
- Provide Clinical Leadership through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills, competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care
- Ensure both clinical practice and professional standards are identified and maintained in the delivery of safe patient care
- Providing clinical expertise to the nursing team by sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant guidelines and standards
- Maintains a professional and constructive working relationships
- Prioritises Healthscope's patient safety and quality frameworks
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- 5+ years' experience in a Mental Health setting, including drug and alcohol addiction
- A demonstrated interest in the field of addictive behaviours, specialisation in the field, substantial experience, or postgraduate qualifications or Continual Professional Development
- Demonstrate ability to deliver high quality patient care
- Hghly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
- Knowledge of adult learning practises and contemporary education practises
- Post graduate qualifications in mental health or addiction disorders (Desirable)
