The MERIT program is a 12 week program that involves weekly attendance appointments from clients, and reporting to the courts on each individual clients progress. As the Clinical Lead, you will be involved in counselling and case management of clients, as well as having the responsibility of leading other team members in clinical review meetings and providing clinical guidance as required.
The local courts involved in our MERIT program include Newcastle, Maitland, Toronto, Cessnock and Raymond Terrace. The successful applicant will be supported by their fellow colleagues, their Line Manager, the Allied Health Lead and DACS District Manager.Where you'll be working
The successful applicant will join the MERIT Team made up of multiple professions including Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers and Administration. MERIT‘s goal is to provide counselling and case management to clients involved in the criminal justice system that are identified as having Drug and Alcohol dependency.
You will be based out of Newcastle Community Health, located at 670 Hunter Street, Newcastle – surrounded by multiple cafés and restaurants for those days you feel like treating yourself for lunch!About YouThe successful applicant will have exceptional communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
