Mater Private Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse (CN) to join the Cardiac Service team on a permanent full-time basis.
Boasting an outstanding clinical team, the Mater Private Hospital Cardiac Service is an outstanding addition to Mater's already impressive list of clinical innovations. The Cardiac Service offers cardiovascular services to both public and private patients across our combined Cardiology Ward and Coronary Care Unit.
You will be joining a busy department that is led by a passionate and innovative Nursing Manager who strongly encourages professional development. The Medical and Nursing staff are specially trained in the care of cardiology patients and provide exceptional care to ensure our patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
Salary range: $49.88 - $53.43 (Registered Nurse Level 2) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Team leading when required
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

In order to be successful in this position, you will have:
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Post-graduate studies (completed or currently enrolled) highly advantageous
- Considerable demonstrated experience in an Acute Care setting / Medical environment (ideally with a minimum of 12 months experience in Cardiac Services)
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
