This position reports to the Nursing Director Primary Health and is responsible for leading and coordinating the infection control activities within the Primary Health portfolio of services across the District Hospitals and Community Health Services. This essential position supports the strategic direction, operational processes and delivery of a high standard of clinical care throughout the Primary Health sites and services. This includes acting as our representative at various regional and state-wide meetings to ensure the provision of expert advice and support from the Infection Prevention and Control perspective.The role of the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Infection Prevention & Control is to:
- Liaise, consult and support the North West Primary Health Services (District Hospitals, Aged Care and Community Health Services) in the development and implementation of infection control policies, practice, programs and education and training programs in conjunction with the Tasmanian Infection Prevention and Control Unit (TIPCU) to provide safe quality patient/resident/client care.
- Identify the learning and support requirements of the Primary Health Services in the North West and, with the support of TIPCU, incorporate these into the National and Statewide initiatives/direction framework.
- Work collaboratively with the Infection Prevention and Control CNC - Mersey Community Hospital and North West Regional Hospital in the delivery of infection control programs throughout the North West.
- Provide the Nursing Director - Primary Health North West with high level quality and authoritative advice and support

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 pro rata per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013
