The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Clinical Nurse – Diabetes Education, RN2C.
As the Clinical Nurse, your responsibilities will include;
- Working in partnership with clients and their families and in collaboration with other health professionals and agencies to ensure optimum health outcomes
- Overseeing the provision of nursing care within the team or unit
- Consolidate knowledge and skills and develop capacity through experience and continuous professional development
- Integrating advanced clinical knowledge and demonstrating the necessary competency to provide care relevant to each patient’s needs and achieving agreed patient care outcomes

About You
Qualifications:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Holds or eligible to hold a current practicing certificate

Experience:
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience
- Competence in relevant nursing practice area, following standards
- Leadership experience with student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses
- Experience in working with patients with Type 1 & 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Gestational Diabetes
- Problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management experience
- Development and implementation of nursing practice standards and policies
Knowledge:
- Understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement Systems in a healthcare setting
- Awareness of contemporary nursing/midwifery and healthcare issues
