- Support the Appeals and Prosecutions Group lawyers in conducting:
o appeals from prosecutions and from decisions made under the agencies' legislation.
- Under supervision, collate and prepare briefs to Counsel, briefs of evidence, disclosure material and appeal record books.
- Draft simple correspondence, handle simple contact clients and external legal service providers.
- Assist lawyers with document management tasks, for example, saving documents in the records management system and preparing bundles of documents for Court.
- Maintain the team's litigation lists, which summarise current matters before the Court and are used in reporting to Executive Management of the three agencies.
- Maintain the team's case list, ensuring that matters are updated regularly.
- Research legislation, court cases, archived files, or dated matter information for use by the team.
- Experience in paralegal work and supporting a team of lawyers, or similar administrative experience, or an understanding of the laws of Queensland.
