Clinical Nurse Educator | Full Time
The Team at Western Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (WIPU)
Is a 16-bed unit acute inpatient unit providing 24-hour acute nursing care and support. It provides consumer focused and recovery-focused care in a female only care setting, to consumers who typically have multiple and complex needs.
Aims to assist in the recovery of consumers in an acute phase working toward ongoing recovery and wellness through a variety of person-centred programs to develop daily living skills.
Provides access to multidisciplinary clinical support and treatment, including regular medical psychiatric review, Allied Health and 24-hour nursing support
Develops group programs based on need of the female consumer with a focus on trauma informed care
Undertakes individualised assessment, care planning and review of suitability for less restrictive treatment and care
Provides psycho-education and support to family/carers and promotion of continued links between people and their family/carers
Facilitates the monitoring, engagement and support of people receiving compulsory treatment under the provisions of the Mental Health and Wellbeing act 2022
Promotes consumers choice in community links and partnerships to foster ongoing support and focus on consumer recovery journey
Your new role:
Build the capability of workforce at WIPU and support them in their educational pathway
Be part of the team that welcomes students to the facilities and builds the future of students
Work with data to improve and reduce clinical risk for residents with improved education for staff
Ensure compliance of clinical governance, legislative and documentation requirements, (e.g. Clinical audits, Clinical Review discussions, completion of relevant documentation compliant with requirement of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022).

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and a Working with Children Check. Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of an immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
