What you will be doing in this role
Here at the San, we are looking for a part time, Clinical Nurse Educator where you will have the opportunity to be part of a team that provides excellent care to our patients.
In our Orthopaedic ward, our nursing and multidisciplinary team work closely together to achieve positive patient outcomes. Our services include prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and acute presentations such as fractures, ligaments tendon injuries and joint replacements.
Reporting to the ward Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing continue educational support to the department nursing staff and multi-disciplinary teams
- Service delivery leadership in accordance to AHCL’s policies and procedures
- Analysis & Reporting such as maintaining staff education records, updating education plans and calendars along with review staff performance with NUMs and assist with facilitating education plans and goals for the department
- Always maintain best practice within the speciality area and implement quality improvements where necessary to ensure best patient outcomes
- Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork
Who we are looking for
- You’ll have excellent clinical skills and knowledge in the orthopaedic space
- A passion, good understanding and knowledge of nursing education
- Have great interpersonal and people skills along with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and approach to learning & development
- Have a professional manner along with be adaptability and capability to work in a team-orientated, fast-paced environment
- Have excellent communication skills – both written & verbal skills along with great interpersonal skills by considerately & professionally communicating with patients, their families, visitors, and your colleagues
- Have your bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA membership, along with an up-to-date Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or enrolled in a program
