The Clinical Nurse is an advanced clinical practitioner who provides clinical expertise in the management of clients within a rehabilitation framework. Working within an integrated service model, covering inpatient rehabilitation at Ipswich and Boonah Hospitals and centre and/or home based rehabilitation within the Community Based Rehabilitation Team (CBRT).

Ward 6B
As part of the Sub and Post Acute Stream this service provides adult inpatient care services for Rehabilitation, Acute Stroke and Acute Medical patients. The unit caters for high intensity rehabilitation patients accepted by Rehabilitation Specialists, acute stroke and medical admissions that present to the emergency department
Community Based Rehabilitation Team - CBRT
As part of the Sub and Post acute stream CBRT is a time-limited goal orientated outpatient rehabilitation services from Ipswich Health Plaza, Boonah Hospital, Laidley Hospital and Esk Hospital. The service caters for a variety of clients with diverse conditions including Stroke, Spinal cord injury, Amputees, Orthopaedic and reconditioning.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience, advanced knowledge and application of clinical problem-solving skills consistent with the principles of evidence based practice related to the management and care of Adult Rehabilitation clients and services.
- Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well-developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
