Clinical Nurse / Fixed Term Temporary full-time / 11.03.2024 up to 14.07.2024 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.
About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse (CN) SMHRU position provides direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support, encompassing purposeful evidenced based practice interventions to patients and clients, recognising safety of all. A key role is coordinating and supervising the care of all consumers provided be other members of both the nursing and the multidisciplinary team.
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise, education, leadership and support to nursing staff; utilising clinical skills, to provide patients within the unit quality patient care and the provision of best practice.
Skills and experience:
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
- Ability to understand the Mental Health Act (MHA) 2016 and the effect that this may have on individual consumers within the Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the importance of ongoing risk evaluations and review of all persons (Consumers and staff) in relation to risk and the ability to demonstrate how to action, communicate and document identified interventions in this regard. (Remembering least restrictive practice.
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly Desirable:
- Tertiary Qualification relevant to the position or working towards a relevant Qualification.
- Relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in Mental Health nursing.
- Credentialed status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN). If not Credentialed with ACMHN or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for certification as Credentialed Mental Health Nurse. o Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 or the willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for appointment
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
Generous remuneration package value up to $10,702 p.m. comprising and a salary range of $4017.60 to $4302.00 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
