The DepartmentRespiratory Medicine at The Alfred provides specialist consultative services throughout the breadth of respiratory medicine and allergic diseases and includes four clinical Services, Lung Transplantation, Cystic Fibrosis, General Respiratory & Sleep Medicine and Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology. These services are supported by our Physiology Service and Sleep Laboratory.
Position SummaryThe Occupational Respiratory Clinic requires a Clinic Nurse whose key responsibility is to co-ordinate and undertake preliminary clinical assessments of patients attending the outpatient Alfred Occupational Respiratory Clinic (AORC). The service has two dedicated outpatient clinics per week - Mondays and Thursdays. The AORC provides screening for 300 silica exposed stone benchtop industry workers per year, and diagnosis and management of a range of occupational respiratory conditions, including silicosis. The multi-disciplinary clinic is attended by respiratory physicians and an occupational physician.
Qualifications and Experience Required- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current practising certificate
- Demonstrates the appropriate competencies and skills as per the Clinical Nurse Specialist criteria
- Experience in Respiratory Medicine and research desirable
