EXPERIENCED NURSES WITH A PASSION FOR PERIOPERATIVE SERVICES

We are currently looking to appoint experienced and dedicated individuals to the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist – Perioperative Services.

We have Permanent Full Time or Permanent Part Time roles available to fill.

Position Profile: As a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Perioperative Services, you will be responsible for the delivery of advanced and complex patient care. You will provide a consultation service within this area of expertise and will work collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired outcomes in the patient population, which includes patients with complex needs within the inpatient and ambulatory care setting.

About the Department/Service /Directorate: The Operating Theatres Complex at Perth Children's Hospital provides a safe and technologically advanced environment for surgery. Here's what you can expect:

  • Multiple Theatres: Our 12 operating theatres are equipped for both elective (planned) and emergency surgeries, as well as specialized procedures.
  • Seamless Care: The Operating Theatre Complex and PACU are directly connected to other critical care units, Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as well as the Surgical Admissions ward and Surgical Short Stay Unit. 

About Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH): is Western Australia's specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, with 298 beds. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, PCH offers primary care for severe medical cases and secondary services such as inpatient, outpatient, and day-stay care. Within the application system you will be presented with the following two (2) questions designed to assess your qualifications against the Essential Selection Criteria outlined in the attached Job Description Form. Each question allows you to showcase your relevant skills and experiences in detail, with a generous word limit of 500 words per response.

     1. Can you provide an example from your experience within Perioperative Services nursing where you managed a complex clinical situation, highlighting your advanced clinical knowledge and leadership abilities whilst demonstrating well developed interpersonal and communication skills.

(Essential selection criteria 2 and 5).

     2. Could you describe a situation in your nursing experience where you actively engaged in quality improvement initiatives? How did you apply your knowledge of quality improvement principles to enhance patient care outcomes? (Essential selection criteria 3)

Please also provide a current resume which summarises your experience and includes both phone and email contact details of two professional referees, with at least one being a recent supervisor/line manager.
