About the Role

• Clinical Nurse Specialist of Murray Ward, overseeing a 30-bed Cardiothoracic Surgical Ward.
• You will be responsible for ensuring excellence in care delivery, act as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in the area of cardiothoracic nursing.
• Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting
• Contribute to the education of all levels of nursing staff by providing in department orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs
• Contribute to the hospital continuous improvement processes
• Lead/manage the department in the absence of the Unit Manager.
• Support the unit manage in the success of the department. Build and maintain strong relationships with our doctors, patients and key stakeholders.

About you:

Success in this role requires extensive clinical experience in cardiothoracic nursing, a genuine passion for excellence in patient care, and frontline leadership skills. Your ability to innovate, and foster a positive, cohesive culture is crucial. Flexibility in adjusting working hours to meet demand is also essential.

• Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an acute hospital setting
• Relevant post graduate qualification plus minimum 3 years experience in Cardiothoracic specialty.
• Ability to implement and evaluate continuous improvement and education programs
• Sound computer skills using MS Office programs, including Excel
• Commitment to demonstrating and promoting the Ramsay Way
• Possess strong communication skills.
• A track record of providing clinical leadership.
