About the role 

We are a women and family-centered maternity unit dedicated to providing the best experience for expectant mothers and their families throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postnatal period. Our passionate team of midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and doctors work cooperatively in the provision of woman-centered care. We take pride in our commitment to creating a nurturing and safe environment for all. 
  
The role is responsible for designing, guiding, and assessing educational and training initiatives for clinical staff in the Special Care Nursery Unit at Canterbury Hospital.
   
It involves employing modern evidence-based educational approaches and delivery methods, with the aim to exemplify outstanding practices and offer educational programs and assistance to promote the provision of safe and excellent care.

  
      
We are looking for someone who has … 

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty.
• Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.

About working for SLHD

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_022).

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).​

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
