The Department
The medical obesity service will support the bariatric surgery programme, providing: intensive medical therapy with very low-energy diets and weight loss medications; a multi-disciplinary lifestyle/behaviour change and self-management program and individual goal-orientated programs. The Psychology department is progressive, committed to excellent patient care and to the development and support of the psychology staff
Position Summary
In this role, you will work closely with other members of the Medical Obesity and Bariatric Surgery teams to provide psychological assessment and treatment to patients of the Medical Obesity clinic. It is an opportunity to be part of the development of a new team joining a group of skilled clinicians.
You will be required to work on Thursday morning, other days are flexible.
You will be a senior member of the Alfred Psychology Department and will be involved in department activities and duties including the supervision of other psychology staff and students, professional development activities and research.
Requirements for the Role
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health Psychology.
- Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
- Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Health Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
- Approved Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Health Psychologist
- Australian working rights
- Full Covid-19 and 2023 Influenza vaccination
- Be willing to undergo a Background Check
