As part of our commitment to excellence in Clinical Quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Quality Manager to our team. Join us at our Belmont office, working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. We have both a permanent full-time position and a 12-month fixed-term contract on offer.

Position Overview:

As the Clinical Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care across our organisation.  You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, reducing medical errors, and improving overall quality of care. Additionally, you will serve as a resource and advocate for patient safety principles and best practices throughout the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Supports and implements the clinical governance framework as approved by St John WA
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organisation.
  • Lead and coordinate patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, including clinical reviews and root cause analyses, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to mitigate risks to patient safety.
  • Monitor and analyse patient safety data and clinical performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary committees and working groups focused on patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with organisational policies and procedures related to patient safety and quality of care.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff and volunteers on patient safety and incident reporting, Clinical Quality standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical leaders, managers, and support staff to promote a team-based approach to patient safety and quality improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders

What you’ll need:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (Paramedic preferred)
  • Demonstrated clinical Expertise and leadership skills.
  • Maintain currency and up to date with current practice.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and provide reports relating to findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable skills and qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing change in a health care setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of patient safety and quality improvement programs
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Post graduate qualifications in a relevant field).
