Job description

Let's talk about who we are
The nib Group has a mission and vision of people enjoying better health. Through our success, we aspire to more prosperous and sustainable communities, not only the creation of enterprise value. nib is a trusted health partner, helping members, travellers and participants make more informed healthcare decisions, transact with healthcare systems and generally live healthier lives.

We're looking for people who share this passion and want to be a part of a team that has the appetite and ambition to be extraordinary. Extraordinary comes in different perspectives and experiences. We're committed to an environment where everyone has the autonomy and freedom to be their authentic selves, every day.

Let's talk about diversity, equity and inclusion
We embrace a flexible working environment and welcome candidates that reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. We actively encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ as well as culturally diverse community members to apply for open roles.

nib Group is committed to creating an accessible recruitment process and employment experience. If you identify as a person living with disability and require adjustments to our online application, recruitment, selection and/or assessment process, or would like this advertisement in an alternative format, please contact us at nibemployment@ nib.com.au

Let's talk about this role
Reporting to the Group Chief Medical Officer, the Head of Clinical Strategy & Governance will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of the Clinical Strategy. This role focuses on supporting product owners in commissioning value-based health programs, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. Additionally, the role will lead key projects in the health space.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing the implementation of the Group Clinical Governance framework, ensuring objective and transparent reporting of known and emerging clinical risks from across the Group to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.

The role also will also focus on monitoring and responding to emerging health trends, including proposing novel programs, treatments, and technologies, ensuring nib remains at the forefront of offering the best available care options to its members.

Let's talk about you
This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong clinical background, extensive experience in health program commissioning, a deep understanding of Clinical governance frameworks with proven success in execution. Additionally, you will have:

  • Tertiary health degree with current AHRPA registration
  • Experience working in healthcare management, health quality assurance and clinical governance
  • Demonstrated success in integrating clinical thought leadership into organisational strategy, processes and practices
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills ensuring team members are enabled to work efficiently with a focus on execution
  • Project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Broad network of health and health insurance relationships
  • Experience in developing value-based health programs in an insured population
  • Experience in approaches to improving health outcomes

At nib, we recognise that some people may only apply when their education, skills and/or experiences are identical to what an employer is looking for in a candidate. We're always on the lookout for curious individuals who will add to the culture at nib Group - so if this role resonates with you, please apply!
