The Opportunity
In this Permanent, Full time role you will lead the team in delivering quality care of our residents. You will provide hands on operational management of the facility including overseeing professional nursing staff, carers and support staff. You will also have budgetary, facility maintenance and compliance responsibility. Focusing on building a quality team with motivated and caring staff you will ensure you have the right team around you to deliver outstanding care to our residents.

About Us
The Halls Creek Peoples Church Frail Aged Hostel (Menkawum Ngurra), is a 28 bed Residential Aged Care Facility in the Shire of Halls Creek. It assists both low and high care residents with day-to-day activities of daily living, quality clinical care and provides regular outings.

Menkawum Ngurra operates in a culturally appropriate manner under the management of the Yura Yungi Aboriginal Medical Service. Menkawum Ngurra services Halls Creek and its surrounding remote Indigenous communities.

The Salary Package

  • $140,000 pa plus Remote Area Allowance
  • Opportunities to fly in and fly out (3 flights per year)
  • Subsidised accommodation with meals provided whilst working
  • Relocation costs
  • Retention bonus
  • Five (5) weeks Annual Leave and generous Salary Packaging benefits are also offered.
ldeal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated understanding of Aged Care Accreditation, excellent business management and people management skills and experience in a similar role. Developed verbal and written communication skills with an ability to inspire and motivate staff as well as manage stakeholders and experience living remotely is essential. Ideally, you will have a knowledge of indigenous culture and have relevant tertiary Nursing qualifications.

Selection Criteria

  • APHRA registered RN/CN
  • Previous experience running an Aged Care Facility, with a detailed understanding of current Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Excellent business understanding and management skills
  • Ability to successfully work and live remotely.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with an ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate positively and effectively with all people.
  • Previous experience successfully working with Indigenous people and clients.
