We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished and dynamic Registered Nurse to join us as Clinical Quality Partner within the Clinical Governance Team. This position assist Juniper to achieve best practices, clinical and goal focused care outcomes for consumers in alignment with the Clinical Governance Framework, Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS, Enterprise Quality Risk Management Framework and Junipers Model of Care. The role will hold accountability for the ‘second line of defence’ activity to enable first line operational managers and staff to manage risk effectively and therefore provide assurance. Partnering with the operational team, this role is responsible for the co-development, coordination, and integration of quality activities. This role requires regular travel to support operational quality assurance activity.
Key responsibilities:
- Support effective and compliant quality and care governance processes across Juniper
- Guidance and surveillance of quality and clinical indicators including trending, analysing, and partnering for quality improvement activity
- Formulate comprehensive evaluations and reporting to key stakeholders via meetings, working parties and committees
- Support a culture that enables staff to understand and comply with quality, clinical risk, and safety guidelines to meet relevant accreditation standards
- Identifies and reports upon regulatory performance risk at service level through quality assurance activities
- Collaborates and communicates areas of risk, provides direction and evaluation of care services; formal reports to address identified risk
- Assist in the response and analysis of serious incidents and complaints, including mandatory reporting requirements, and coroners’ information gathering
- Contributes to Operational and Strategic Planning
- Organisational Representation
- Ensuring compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements including appropriate Injury Risk Management
- Broad Knowledge of Aged Care Industry, Aged Care Act 1997 and subordinate principles
- Working Knowledge of the Australian National Aged Care Classification funding model (AN-ACC)
- Demonstrated ability to analyse Clinical Indicators, performance, and risk
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement corrective actions for identified risk
- Understanding of the principles of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation of continuous improvement activities
- Proven experience as a Senior Registered Nurse for more than 5 years
- Experience in change and quality management processes
- Experience in research based clinical activities
- High level of verbal and written communication skills which is effective and consistent with the core values and guiding principles of the organisation
- Interpersonal, effective time management and planning skills
- Ability to be an effective member of the organisational team whilst retaining ability to work autonomously
- Advanced clinical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent computer literacy and competency in electronic care systems
- Qualification in, and/or experience as a Quality Aged Care Assessor (desirable)
- Qualification and/or experience in clinical specialty – e.g.: dementia care, wound care, palliative care, community etc (desirable)
- Qualification in infection prevention and control leads (IPC Leads) or working towards
- Qualification and/or experience in adult-based teaching and learning activities
