Fellowship in Molecular Imaging and Therapy

GenesisCare has an exciting opportunity for a Fellowship in Molecular Imaging and Therapy.

This fellowship program is designed to impart knowledge and clinical experience in all aspects of the radionuclide application in cancer within a planned and monitored training program. Experience will be provided across more than one centre in Perth to ensure exposure to a balance of various management algorithms, imaging protocols and research.

The aim of the fellowship training in Molecular Imaging and Therapy is to enable a nuclear medicine physician or dual trained radiologist/nuclear medicine specialist to expand and develop in the below areas:

Fellowship Objectives:

  • Expertise in newer molecular imaging agents such as 68Ga-octreotate, 68Ga-PSMA, 18F amyloid agents, etc.
  • Expertise in the treatment of oncological patients with radionuclide therapeutic agents. In particular-  radiopeptide and radio-immunotherapeutic agents.
  • Improved understanding of the use of various imaging modalities in the management of     malignant conditions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the multidisciplinary management of different malignancies.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the development of preclinical and clinical trials protocols.
  • Improve understanding of imaging in cancer.
  • Explore the potential of molecular imaging.
  • Understand the need and utilising correlative imaging.
  • Learn the complete spectrum of routine and advanced radionuclide therapy.
  • Learn the application of Molecular Imaging in radiotherapy planning.
  • Participate in advanced therapeutic applications e.g. Y-90 SIRT radio-embolisation.
  • Develop understanding of structured preclinical and Clinical Research.

We're looking for someone who has:

Essential:

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority with appropriate specialist recognition.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australia College of Physicians or dual Australian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
  • Eligible for Registration with appropriate body for radiation user licence for nuclear medicine and therapy.
  • Hold relevant specialist recognition with the Health Insurance Commission and Medicare Australia to obtain a provider numbers at the appropriate Perth Radiological Clinic sites.
  • Eligibility to obtain Hospital Accreditation at the appropriate SKG sites.

Desirable:

  • Previous rotations or work in an oncology, haematology  or radiation oncology setting
  • Subspecialty FRACP in Oncology or other medical specialty
  • Higher research degree or degree related to oncology
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Prior participation in clinical, pre-clinical or basic sciences research
  • Previous chemistry or physics experience/qualifications
