$118,560 p/annum ($60 p/hr) minimum

Full time Permanent position
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
The position is based in Carrum Downs or Kilsyth,
depending on which site is closer for the successful incumbent

About the role ...
The Clinical Safetyand Best Practice Manager will be responsible in consultation with the Residential General Manager for ensuring Clinical Safety and comprehensive care in Residential Homes. The role will identify, monitor and manage high impact and high prevalence clinical care risks timely and effectively. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Clinical oversight and ensure best-practice across all aged care quality standards
- Ensure staff apply the Eden Philosophy in their daily practice and positively support Elders to actively combat loneliness, helplessness and boredom
- Use Risk-based approach to assist MiCare Residential Managers make sound evidence-based decisions on Clinical Practice
- Ensure high standards across all homes in Clinical Safety and Comprehensive Clinical Care
- Support early detection, monitoring and management of high impact and high prevalence clinical care risks
- Support MiCare homes to not only meet but exceed the Aged Care Quality standards
- Research industry related academic resources that support evidence based practice and make recommendations for the homes to stay up to date with current Best Practice.
About you ...
Self motivated with a flexible and caring and patient attitude. Ability to effectively manage time.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse Division 1
- Current practicing certificate with the AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency)
- Experience in Older Persons Care including regulatory requirements in Residential Aged Care Settings
- Drivers Licence and a car
- Post Graduate qualifications in Advanced Nursing practice, Geriatric Nursing or Older person's care desirable
Skills
- Knowledge of all legislations and standards relevant to MiCare's residential operations
- Demonstrated experience and high level working knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards, including Strengthened Standards
- Demonstrated understanding of key risks related to the provision of health care and service delivery and the management of risks
- Turning metrics data into continous improvement outcomes
- Experience co-ordinating accreditation processes including self-assessment, associated audits and preparation of relevant documentation
- Able to prepare reports, write policies and deliver presentations to multiple audiences
- Previous experience in Clinical Care Management or Facility Management advantageous
A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current influenza and full COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.
A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
