About Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics
Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

About Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic
The Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic (MHCC) engages postgraduate audiology students from the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the School of Health Sciences to provide hearing services under the supervision of leading audiologists in Melbourne.
Services include diagnostic assessments for all ages, electrophysiological evaluations, expert advice on hearing loss management, hearing aid fittings and adjustments, vestibular assessments, personalised tinnitus management, and specialised clinics for autism and auditory processing. Housed within is the University of Melbourne Centre for Auditory Neuroscience, focusing on disorders affecting the auditory nerve and central pathways, catering to infants, children, and adults with auditory neuropathy and neurodegenerative hearing issues.
About Melbourne Dental Clinic
The Melbourne Dental Clinic (MDC) supervises the graduate and postgraduate students from the Melbourne Dental School to deliver dental services under the supervision of leading dental practitioners in Melbourne. We also have a private dental practice with fully qualified dental practitioners. The fees associated with these two levels of service are adjusted according to whether or not they are set in the teaching and learning environment. What makes our service unique is the availability of a wide range of dental specialties in the one location, including endodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics and paediatric dentistry, as well as general dentistry.
About the RoleMelbourne Teaching Health Clinics have multiple exciting opportunities within both our Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic and Melbourne Dental Clinic. As a crucial member in our Clinics, reporting directly to the respective Administration Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our audiology or dental services.

- Effectively manage appointments, phone inquiries, process billings and payments
- Liaising with key clinicians and other key stakeholders.

About youEssential Selection Criteria

- Experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, including strong attention to detail.
- The capacity to work autonomously but also collaboratively and effectively, whilst using initiative to support improvements, within a multidisciplinary team.
- Well-developed computer skills.
- A strong sense of self awareness, positive mindset and a passion for ongoing development.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in the Healthcare/Allied Healthcare industry.
- Ability to operate EFTPOS machines and a capacity to deal with banks and medical insurance funds.
- Experience with patient management systems, Medicare billing, NDIS billing, Private Insurance Claims and Australian Government Hearing Services Program.
- Awareness of communication approaches for patients with different communication needs.
