casual opportunity to provide education administrative and teaching support for Clinical Skills sessions for medical studentsshifts available across ALL Sydney metro Clinical Schools (see all Clinical Schools listed in second paragraph below)part-time casual roleHE07 Step 1 $71.61 per hourAbout the opportunityThe Clinical Skills Educator and Simulation Coordinators are responsible for the planning, coordination, facilitation and teaching of procedural Clinical Skills and simulation-based teaching to medical students across all years of the Sydney Medical Program (SMP).The procedural skills and simulation-based Clinical Skills teaching is delivered at each of the SMP Clinical Schools located at various LHD Hospitals. These locations include Northern Clinical School (Royal North Shore Hospital and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital), Central Clinical School (Concord Hospital and Susan Waikl Health Building, Camperdown), Westmead Clinical School (Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead) and Nepean Clinical School (Nepean Hospital) .There is a team of highly skilled and motivated clinical educators (11) that deliver this component of the SMP. We are now seeking to create a casual pool that can support the team during periods of intense workload, absence etc.As a casual Clinical Skills Educator and Simulation Coordinator, you will work under the broad direction and make decisions in the completion of daily tasks related to their key accountabilities. You will be expected to exercise a degree of initiative and judgement in planning work activity and resolving problems associated with day-to-day operating procedures directly linked to their key accountabilities. Problems that cannot be resolved and are outside the scope of their key accountabilities are referred to the supervisor or more senior co-workers.Your key responsibilities will beproviding education administrative (e.g., timetabling, ordering) supportdelivering procedural and simulation-based clinical teaching sessionsassisting with the educational reporting and compliance requirements for the work areaactively contributes to the FMH Clinical/Procedural Skills Community of Practiceundertakes ad-hoc projects and other activitiesYou will havecurrent Clinical Skills knowledgewell-developed skills in clinical practice and teaching, including simulation, simulated patients and Clinical Skills training methods in health profession educationeffective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritize workload during busy periodsability to work both independently and in a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily workexcellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks and to meet deadlines and achieve required outcomeexcellent client focus with the ability to build partnerships between the Sydney Medical School/ Faculty teams and the school and local health teamsTo keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the positionWorking with Children CheckThis position is designated as child related employment.
