What you'll be doing


The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) will provide timely and accurate administrative/transactional services for members of the health care team under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remain the responsibility of the NUM.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or has equivalent work experience.
  3. Self-motivated with ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  4. Capacity to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a dynamic team, in a high volume, demanding work environment.
  5. Excellent team skills and able to work effectively in a busy multi-skilled team environment.
  6. Computer literacy with advanced knowledge and practical skills with computer and internet-based software, with high level of accuracy in word processing, data entry, and minute taking skills.
  7. Excellent organisational and problem solving skills, and ability to prioritise tasks.
