Where you'll be working:
John Hunter Hospital is one of the busiest tertiary referral centres in Australia and the only trauma referral centre in NSW outside of Sydney. Our specialist staff are focused on meeting the needs of acutely ill and injured patients, providing care for both adult and paediatric patients throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Northern NSW.
The John Hunter Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a Level 6 referral centre for critically ill patients in the Hunter New England, Mid North Coast, and Northern NSW Local Health Districts.
It is the default centre for Trauma, Neurosurgery, Stroke, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, and major General Surgery, as well as Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology.

About the role:
This role will see our successful candidate supporting our clinical team with administration to ensure positive healthcare outcomes for our patients and visitors to the ward.
- This includes providing support with rostering, recruitment, audit, and data entry, planning for education, and reception duties
- This role is based in our Intensive Care Unit, working alongside our Intensive Care Staff Specialists, Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Staff
- We will provide a supportive training plan including induction and orientation to the department, face-to-face, and online training as well as a mentor to help ease the candidate into the role
- Hold or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent
