The Division of Cancer Services are looking for a Clinical Trial Coordinator - Health Practitioner to join their team. The Division of Cancer Services - Cancer Trials Unit (DOCS CTU) of the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is dedicated to providing a high quality service for the delivery of clinical research treatments for patients with cancer. The research conducted explores questions of optimal drug use, novel combination chemotherapies, targeted therapies, radiation therapy, new diagnostic tests, prognostic indices, best supportive care, molecular predictors of response and cost effectiveness.

About the Role
The Clinical Trial Coordinator – Health Practitioner (HP-CTC) provides clinical, problem-solving, planning and coordination skills in the management of cancer patients on haematology, medical oncology and radiation oncology Clinical Trials with complex care needs, commensurate with level of experience. The HP-CTC provides direct and indirect care and works in collaboration with investigators and research nurses, whilst ensuring quality standards are met relevant to the scope of practice required of this role. This role works collaboratively within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of Clinical Trial coordination. The HP-CTC provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
- Apply Clinical Trials knowledge and expertise to facilitate participation in Clinical Trials, including consideration of emerging technological and medical advances in health care.
- Monitor key outcomes and safety endpoints related to Clinical Trial treatments using advanced clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Actively exercise the patient advocacy role by implementing the ongoing process of informed consent and ensuring patient's confidentiality and autonomy is maintained.
- Work effectively with study monitors during monitoring of Clinical Trial data, internal company audits and external reviews.
- Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of clinical research management services within DOCS.
