It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.About the roleThis position would suit a candidate who is eligible and willing to undertake a Higher Degree by Research (HDR), such as an MPhil or PhD.The Research Officer is an integral member of the research team within the Surgical Outcomes Research Centre (SOuRCe) and the RPA Institute of Academic Surgery (IAS). Under the guidance of the SOuRCe and IAS Directors, they will help manage a large, multi-centre, National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funded randomised controlled trial.This will include the development, implementation and adherence of a high quality research protocol, ethics submissions, development and maintenance of a comprehensive database, coordination and recruitment of research participants, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, data analysis and research manuscript submission, management and preparation of financial and executive reports.In addition, the Research Officer will also help with the management, planning, implementation and coordination of other research studies and activities conducted within SOuRCe and IAS.We are looking for someone who…
- Has relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or equivalent experience in epidemiology and Clinical Trials management.
- Is eligible and willing to undertake a Higher Degree by Research (HDR), such as an MPhil or PhD.
- Has attention to detail and ability to adhere strictly to a research protocol.
- Has excellent skills in quantitative research including database management, project management and basic statistical analysis skills.
