RBA is currently seeking a Cloud Technical Lead to join our Platform Engineering team in IT for a fixed term contract till April 2026. The role will focus on cloud and infrastructure, cyber security and platform integration. Over and above this, you will:
- Deliver and deploy complex solutions in line with quality, scope and time constraints.
- Provide high level of technical expertise, working across a multitude of cloud infrastructure, security, systems and application platforms to plan, install, configure and support customer environments.
- Implement cloud infrastructure, systems and application solutions and services with focus on CI/CD and automation tasks to treat Infrastructure as Code.
- Assist in driving change and improving the standard of code and engineering practice in the team. Automation should be the key focus to all solutions implemented in customer environments.
- Collaborate with other Engineers to ensure standards and best practice are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Platform Engineering team to support and improve Bank platforms through problem resolution, debugging, and system enhancements.
- Ensure that the Platform Engineering development standards are maintained and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practice.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure platforms, tools, software packages used, and ensure all system documentation complies with relevant IT Standards.
- Perform analysis and design of new platform solutions, undertake scripting / programming tasks, and ensure that solutions are adequately tested.
- Undertake relevant research including the evaluation of new software, tools, and techniques ensuring they meet the Bank's enterprise architecture and standards.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to refine business and IT requirements and promote the implementation and adoption of the automation technologies.
- Champion the development, design, and delivery of software defined infrastructure initiatives to improve IT Infrastructure operational efficiency, security, and stability
Skills & experience
- 3-5 years previous enterprise engineering experience with 3 years experience working with Azure.
- Experience and confidence in a customer facing consulting or engineering role with strong technical presence and confidence.
- Experience in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting multiple customers across multiple platforms.
- Experience using tooling and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Git, ARM, Azure Devops, and Terraform.
