The Port Douglas Yacht Club is inviting applications for the position of Club Manager. This is an opportunity to work in a tropical paradise. The Port Douglas Yacht Club is a famous long-term establishment with the only waterfront beer garden in Port Douglas. Our club offers full bar facilities, including the coldest beer in Port, and a restaurant known for our emphasis on quality, fresh, local food at Yacht Club prices. We also engage and work with some of the best live musicians in Port Douglas.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Club Manager who can help us take our establishment to new heights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior bar or club/hotel management, with experience in budget management and POS systems. They must be hands-on, skilled communicators with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with diverse personalities, always striving to maintain a safe and fun environment for all patrons. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, eager to take on new challenges and help the Club move forward. They must be able to provide monthly written updates to the Club's management committee with proposals to increase patronage and profitability. Furthermore, the candidate needs to be fit, motivated, and enthusiastic, with a keen eye for detail and strong leadership skills. RSA and RCG qualifications are mandatory. Responsibilities of the role include hands-on bar work, staff management, customer service, strong food and beverage knowledge and skill, administration, as well as liaison/coordination of entertainment and security. The above-award conditions will be available based on the successful candidate's effective operations. The salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 + Super. The position is for a 38 hour week but it is expected that the work hours will involve evenings and weekends. The Club Manager will report to the Vice Commodore and the Management Committee.
