ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work closely with our small Fabrication team, utilising your experience and expertise in tig welding, Press Brake & CNC operation to create parts to build our Tommy Campers, Canopies & Trays. Working primarily with aluminium and stainless steel (occasionally mild steel fabrication), you’ll:
- Help make things happen, to ensure that projects are completed on time and systems run smoothly.
- Preparing programs for parts in accordance with relevant mechanical specifications and machine input requirements.
- Resolving issues before or during the manufacturing cycle, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure machine and workshop is cleaned and maintained.
- Ensure the scheduled workload is completed within the timeframe.
- Nurture and guide any Apprentice or junior staff, giving them opportunity to learn, willingly sharing your expertise and knowledge of the trade.
Assist inventory and ordering of materials and supplies via the Fabrication Shed Manager
This role will support the end-to-end assembly and fit-out of Tommy Campers, Canopies & Trays. Your pride in your work, problem solving skills, and strong attention to detail, will ensure that every Tommy Camper is built to the highest quality standards.

ABOUT YOU
• Trade Qualifications – Fitter/Machinist/Welder
• Proven experience with CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
• Strong working knowledge of our machines’ capabilities and a willingness to learn new machines.
• Ability to problem solve and be responsible for coordinating the workload, ensuring the smooth running of the shed.
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD software.
• Prior experience and sound knowledge in programming speeds and feed rates required for different materials and setups, including threading.
• Willing to nurture and train other staff, sharing your skills and expertise.
• Ability to work with and identify different types of materials and grades of aluminium to common Australian Standards.
• Ability to work both independently, and as a team, to plan and execute jobs from start to finish.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes, prioritise and problem-solve.
• Self-starter that takes pride in end result, with strong attention to detail.
• Continuingly demonstrate a solid awareness of OH&S practices.
• Excellent communication skills and well-spoken English
• A current Forklift License is preferred.
