The role of the Coordinator - Noongar Walbrininy Kaartdijin (Noongar Healing Knowledge) is to:
Increasing Culturally Responsive, Holistic Family Safety Practices, Methods and Resources to Support Children and Families with Multiple and Complex Needs in Perth and the South West region of Western Australia
To increase the knowledge and skills of staff working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) children, families and individuals, with multiple and complex needs in Perth and South West region of WA.
Local and South West regional Elders will be consulted to provide advice and guidance on models of multidisciplinary practice to support service delivery; professional development required to upskill staff with the required knowledge and expertise and components to be incorporated into the resource manual, website and app.
Advice and consultation on services available and how they should be contextualised to be culturally appropriate, professional development required to upskill staff with the required knowledge and expertise and components to be incorporated into the resource manual, website and app.
Coordinate access for staff working with ATSI children, families and individuals and uptake of professional development and training in holistic social and emotional wellbeing practices in areas such as Aboriginal mental health first aid and trauma, cultural healing and protective behaviours for children, families and individuals.

Job Summary
This role is to coordinate a project that will assist and empower, staff working with ATSI children, families and individuals and provide the professional development required to holistically work with ATSI in particular Noongar people in the Community. Develop a resource manual, website and app of services for ATSI people. Consultation with key stakeholders inclusive of Noongar Elders, Aboriginal Disability and Aboriginal LGBTQIA individuals, couples and families.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor Degree of Social Work, Community Services or, other similar degrees and/or career experience in similar roles.
- Demonstrated skills in project Coordination.
- Experience with working with Aboriginal families, individuals and children.
- Experience in development of tools and systems to support facilitation of complex services within community services and other service industries that form the website, manual and app resource.
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience working effectively and professionally in a multi-disciplinary team, and meeting contractual requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and advanced interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate in the Microsoft suite of programs and experience in information and technology platforms.
- Current valid driver’s licence.
- Current Police Clearances and Working with Children Check Clearance.
- Australian Citizenship, Residency Status or Visa allowing unrestricted work rights.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, reliable and particular to detail.
- Workplace health and safety policy and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Understanding of the National Principles - Child Safe Organisations.
- Able to work collaboratively in a Leadership Team/s.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Influence and contribute to the development and implementation of best systems practice to ensure high standards of service delivery, contractual compliance, and continuous quality improvement of the project.
Maintain accurate and timely record keeping, case notes, data collection and report writing (where relevant). Report critical incidents, or clients at higher risk to the Leadership Team and CEO.
Encourage and obtain client feedback to contribute to ongoing quality improvement of MGA services.
Develop referral networks and build strong collaborative networks to facilitate positive project outcomes.
Actively participate in regular formal supervision with the teams, to contribute to supervision of support workers and students as required.
Participate in Professional Development (PD). Participate in Performance reviews on a regular basis with External Human Resources.

Comply with MGA Policy and Procedures at all times.

Providing ongoing support, mentoring and where appropriate, initiate professional development opportunities to ensure skills are maintained for self and colleagues.
Be an accessible and positive role model for the “Teams” of the client services, to access support and advise on client related aspects of their role.
Develop and maintain good professional working relationships with all members of the MGA Leadership teams.
The MGA teams, all support the day to day operations of CNC, CHS, CCS and CS as required.
Qualifications and experience required with positions, also Working with Children Card, National Police Clearance and a valid driver's licence.
Positions are paid under the Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
