Blue Diamond is a leading industrial equipment supplier specializing in Generators, Air Compressors, and other industrial equipment.
You will be an integral part of the finance team making certain that the procurement runs efficiently and smoothly by sustaining good relationships with suppliers.
The Role:
The successful candidate for the Purchasing Coordinator role will have the following responsibilities:
- Raise, maintain and monitor purchase orders (PO's) in the system
- Follow up with suppliers throughout the PO lifecycle, from PO creation until goods receipt
- Monitor supplier performance from a purchasing viewpoint, and bring any issues or concerns to the attention of the broader Procurement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers & contractors, ensuring a win-win approach to collaboration / negotiation.
- Management of purchase orders – from requisition to receipt of goods according to the requirements of internal stakeholder.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reports that create efficiencies or improve effectiveness of the purchasing function
- Work with the finance team to update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to enhance applications that lead to improved efficiency and effectiveness.
The successful candidate for the Purchasing Coordinator role will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:
- Experience: You will have min. 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, and inventory management in a manufacturing environment. The drive and organisational skills necessary to work across several purchase orders, suppliers, and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to Multitask and Prioritise – You will have demonstrable experience in adapting to complex or challenging situations as they arise and being able to prioritise deadlines.
- A can-do attitude – our values are central to all that we do. You will go a long way if you use your initiative and common sense and are happy to roll your sleeves up and support the wider team while being able to work independently. You show a desire to build a career in Procurement.
- Being a team player – Supporting colleagues when needed and working as part of a team is essential to our success.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude to follow systematic approach/processes.
- Computer Skills- Demonstrated ability to learn computer systems will mean that you can learn our system. Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
