Programmed Training Services in partnership with Coates has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Apprentice Mobile Plant Mechanic based in Dandenong, VIC.

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals to kick start a career as a Plant Mechanic. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are able to commit to a full-time 4 year apprenticeship, with a "can do" attitude, strong work ethics, drive to learn, a strong focus on safety and being a reliable individual.
Working as an apprentice in this trade, key responsibilities and duties may include:
- Working on a huge range of equipment from chainsaws to 36 tonne excavators
- Assemble and fit machined parts
- Fault finding and resolving mechanical issues]
- Maintenance of equipment including braking and suspension systems
- Service machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs needed by removing worn or damaged parts to install replacements
- Perform safety inspections
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical & cooling systems
- Working with electronic control systems
- Work as a team member
- Attend safety Toolbox talks and contribute to the team's safety
You will be rewarded with:
- A 4-year apprenticeship including paid training to complete Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
- Full-time fixed-term employment for 4 years, with Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Public Holiday pay for the duration of the apprenticeship
- Safety (PPE) equipment, tools and uniforms are provided
- On-going coaching, support and mentoring from qualified professionals
- Opportunities for on-going employment (post apprenticeship)
- As a full-time Apprentice, you may be eligible to receive a total of $5,000 in Government incentives under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive System
To be considered for the opportunity you will need the following skills & attributes:
- Be mechanically minded and enjoy hands-on work
- Enjoy working in a team environment
- Positive attitude and safety-first approach
- Problem solving and initiative
- Possess strong numerical skills
- Drivers Licence preferred
- Ability to undertake a police check
- Physically fit for the role plus the ability to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug alcohol screening
