The Role
Are you an experienced Logistics Officer, or Work Health and Safety Officer, looking for an opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic and evolving domain?
Joint Capabilities Group has an opportunity for you to utilise your skills to contribute to radiation safety within Joint Logistics Command. As the Command Radiation Safety Logistics Manager you’ll work with an innovative team to develop processes and procedures to ensure the safety of workers from radiation hazards.
The role includes the development and implementation of radiation safety policy within Joint Logistics Command, the management of JLC dose reports, and the management of external compliance and internal assurance inspections.
This is a diverse role that provides opportunities for national travel to conduct off-site work. The successful candidate will benefit from tailored, specific training and development opportunities. All relevant radiation safety training will be provided to the successful applicant.
About our Team
The Directorate of Defence Radiation Safety and Assurance is a small team located within Logistics Assurance Branch. The team is responsible for radiation safety across the whole of Defence, but also has a direct responsibility for radiation safety within Joint Logistics Command. The team is motivated, and enjoys an increased level of autonomy.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic, self-starter who has experience working within either a regulatory or compliance framework, an understanding of logistics or work health and safety management systems, and experience in managing or conducting audits or inspections.
The ideal candidate should also have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel, and have the ability to analyse problems and develop effective solutions. Experience with MILIS/SAP/ERP is desirable, but not mandatory.
The position would suit a logistics specialist that has worked with radiation sources, or a WHS specialist that is looking to move into Radsafe management.
