Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP) is a market leader for the safe and responsible collection and recycling of waste in Australia. They create and manage complete, sustainable waste solutions to meet the needs of industry, government and consumers.
The role
The Health, Safety & Environment Manager is responsible for managing ANZRP’s quality, safety and environmental management system and compliance and due diligence programs across ANZRP’s activities and national service partner network.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and maintaining ANZRP’s certifications to ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 and its subsidiaries certification to AS/NZS 5377: collection, storage, transport and treatment of end of life electrical and electronic equipment.
Providing HSE management support (including on-site support) to ANZRP’s subsidiary which runs a small recycling facility.
Managing and implementing ANZRP’s compliance and assurance procedure which includes performing/managing HSE audits (site visits and desktop) over ANZRP’s service provider network (collection partners, logistics providers, e-waste recyclers) and managing the completion of any corrective actions and improvement opportunities. It also includes tracing e-waste flows via GPS trackers and engaging contractors to perform stocktake audits and obtain independent weighbridge certificates.
Calculating ANZRP’s overall material recovery rate by managing and collating recycler downstream traceability reporting and performing desktop audits.
Managing ANZRP’s quarterly and annual reporting requirements under the Recycling and Waste Reduction (Product Stewardship - Televisions and Computers) Rules 2021 (Cth) , which includes reporting on our collected and recycled weight, collection site network, recycler material recovery rate and HSE activities.
In addition you will:
Assist with ANZRP’s corporate sustainability initiatives including BCorp certification, GHG, energy, water and waste inventory, work with stakeholders in preparing annual life cycle assessments for recycling e-waste under the TechCollect program.
Contribute to specialised projects, process improvement and other initiatives including member engagement, technology solutions, digital strategy and enhanced reporting requirements.
Other requirements:
Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in WHS, environmental or sustainability management or extensive work experience as a HSE Manager.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with HSE auditing and compliance management, developing and implementing management systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
Interstate travel to WA, QLD and NSW once a quarter.
Drivers Licence.
Appointments will be subject to a satisfactory National Police check.
