About the role
Our NSW Assets division is currently looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Advisor looking to take the next step in their career. As a Commercial Advisor you will be a key member of the Post Completions and Integration team and your primary role will be to administer and closeout the post D&C completion activities and final handover to operational teams.
The role will support the Senior Commercial Manager in the development and execution of the commercial strategy, negotiation and closeout of post D&C completion activities. The role will be responsible for the management of the commercial arrangements (D&C and State Works Deeds) between the motorway entities and D&C Contractors and Transport for NSW (TfNSW).
The impact you’ll have:
You’ll act as the key point of contact on commercial and contract compliance matters
You’ll ensure that contract ramifications are understood, and you’ll apply a strategic and commercial lens to ensure that commercial outcomes that are best for business are achieved
With a proactive approach to managing risk, you’ll mitigate associated contract disagreemenst before they are escalated.
Lead the day-to-day resourcing of multiple, concurrent commercial activities that are the responsibility of the Post Completions team.
Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to administer and closeout the post D&C completion activities.
Deliver commercial outcomes on-time and within budget.
Drive discussions to reach commercial outcomes and take initiative to support stakeholder participation.
You’ll establish strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
The talents you’ll bring:
Contract management, incl. contractual administration and preparing positions and claims on largescale, commercially complex projects
Commercially astute with a proactive approach to managing risk, you’ll be experienced in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contract matters, understanding and interpreting detailed construction contracts, commercial terms and financial data
Excellent communication (verbal & written) skills
Be self-motivated, self-starter and have a solutions driven approach
Understanding of risk and compliance management
A tertiary degree in Economics/Commerce/Business Management/Law from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications.
A natural relationship-builder and communicator, you can engage, influence and collaborate effectively and tactfully in challenging circumstances
