Due to an expansion in our commercial claims portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join the team. You will work closely with our National Safety Manager & our Commercial Claims Manager to assist with safety on our large loss sites.
You will be a dedicated and meticulous safety professional who is able to identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring the delivery of projects in a timely manner
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage Work Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (WHSMS), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and assist with its compliance to State Legislation of Safety using our infield App and industry leading software applications including HammerTech
- Develop site specific WHS Management Plans for High Risk and Commercial Claims jobs
- Complete reporting on WHS performance and provide WHS advice to trades, Building Supervisors, Construction Managers, Project Managers and the General Manager of the Commercial Claims team.
- Identify WHS training requirements for staff and subcontractors
- Assist with assessment of subcontractor documentation and safety inductions
- Complete incident reporting and investigations as necessary
- Continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of safety across all aspects of the business and enhance the productivity of the overall WHS function
- Conduct Safety Inductions with staff and subcontractors
- Conduct and audit Toolbox Talks
- Complete and audit onsite risk assessment and hazard identification
- Drive risk mitigation strategies and monitoring procedures
- Participate in construction meetings regarding safety updates, incidents and current legislative requirements
- Contribute to and comply with all statutory legislation including the relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures applicable to Ambrose Construct Group
- Certificate IV or higher in WHS
- Must be prepared to travel interstate where and as necessary. Whilst the role is based in Sydney, you will be require to travel to our sites, on occasion in other states.
- High-level of Commercial and Residential experience
- Excellent communication skills
- High-level computer skills across mobile devices, repair management systems and Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Must have high level skills to operate technology; iPads, iPhone, computers.
- Experience in using HammerTech is desirable
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Experience and competencies in hazard Identification, and risk management.
- Experienced in the running of high level OH&S Management systems
- Completed and hold a Construction General Induction Card/White Card
- Completed qualifications in a First Aid Certificate
- Currently hold a valid driver’s license
- A strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems within the Construction Industry
- A broad knowledge and understanding of the relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials
- The ability to produce quality written reports
- Strong people skills
- A 'can do' energetic attitude and action-oriented approach
