Commercial Analyst is a proactive and analytical professional who will collaborate with key business partners across Alinta Energy to establish and deliver against business unit financial targets. This role will also involve reviewing performance reporting, financial forecasting, and supporting management in effective delivery and mitigation strategies. - maintaining an understanding of current energy market conditions and company positions to provide an up-to-date view on financial risk and opportunities to assist management with effective delivery
- leading and controlling segment flash reporting to ensure timely and accurate output
- undertaking financial forecasting and providing a transparent process on critical inputs for the forecast and budgeting process
- managing BU profitability by overseeing the daily P&L, translating it to management for risk assessment, and taking corrective actions as required
- supporting senior management in investigating and articulating business performance drivers.
What you'll bring to it
- detailed knowledge of financial and quantitative analytical techniques
- qualifications in business, economics, commerce, statistics, or another quantitative discipline
- relevant experience in the full range of financial activities, including financial planning and analysis, reporting, and an understanding of general accounting principles is essential, energy industry experience is desirable
- strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in delivering outcomes through cross-functional collaboration
- experience in providing analysis and commentary to senior management.
