What’s involved:
In this role you will be business partnering with the Commercial team to deliver financial targets. You will undertake reporting in an accurate and timely manner, accompanied with insightful analysis and recommendations. You will develop and embed revenue management practices and conduct appropriate governance to ensure financial information is compliant with accounting standards, company policies and procedures.
Every day will be different, but some of your role responsibilities include:
- Performance management, inclusive of providing commercial reporting, insights and support to the management team and contributing to senior management decision making to deliver financial targets.
- Making recommendations for profit and working capital improvement, including development of customer business plans.
- Developing customer investment contractual terms, as well as monitoring to ensure the successful delivery of business in accordance with the contractual terms.
- Developing Revenue Management practices and embedding these actions within the Commercial team.
- Process improvement of Commercial work streams. Work with the Business Information Systems team to ensure Finance systems (and reporting tools) are being appropriately leveraged by the Finance and Commercial teams to enhance efficiency.
- Developing the Commercial Annual Operating Plan (Budget) and Full Year Forecast, underpinned by robust assumptions, ensuring alignment to company strategy and goals.
- Leading and mentoring the Commercial team. Specifically, this includes coaching and developing your direct report.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to negotiate effectively.
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Managing and developing staff.
- At least 8 years’ experience in a commercial role, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
