The Role
We are seeking a Commercial Investment Analyst to join our Commercial team and support the development and pursuit of business development opportunities in solar, storage and distributed energy assets, embedded networks and district energy schemes, through both organic growth and M&A.
Working closely with your Commercial & BD team members, and alongside our Project Delivery and Asset Management teams, your role will include:
- Financial modelling for new projects and current asset valuation and efficiency
- Producing reports and dashboards that present key commercial information and track business development opportunities.
- Preparing client proposals, investment pitchbooks and responses to bids and tenders
- Assistance in translation and reporting on asset performance
- Performance and efficiency modelling for solar, battery, thermal, and embedded network assets
- Input into producing and maintaining asset budgets and forecasts
- Performance Reconciliations
- Energy retail pricing and profitability analysis
- Data analysis to support existing assets and billing
- Research and due diligence for business development and/or merger & acquisition activities
- Preparation of energy supply contracts and customer connection agreements
- Monitoring and maintaining assumptions relevant to energy markets and service provider tariff structures and pricing
Qualifications
Essential requirements:
You will bring the following:
- 2-5 years of experience in a commercial/accounting or Investment Analyst, or consulting role
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a commercial or a science/engineering discipline
- Demonstrated ability with financial modelling, in particular MS Excel and other financial modelling or data processing tools
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of financial modelling & project financing principles
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent written & communication skills
- Experience in the Renewable Energy or utilities sector will be highly regarded
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
