About the Role
Due to our ongoing growth and success, we are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Commercial Manager. Some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Responsible for post award commercial areas of all projects including commercial, contractual and claims issues.
- Manage the commercial team, assist with their growth, development, and performance reviews.
- Assist in the production of management information required by the company and to take responsibility for the accuracy of said information.
- Oversee the management of project budgets in conjunction with the project team to maximize project profit margins.
- Develop project budgets in conjunction with the Project Manager and Chief Commercial Officer.
- Ensure all aspects of the Head Contract are administered in a timely and compliant manner.
- Ensure company has sufficient, appropriate, and adequate insurance coverage at cost effective terms.
- Manage subcontractor selection and ensure successful subcontractors are fully compliant with all contractual requirements. Provide ongoing monitoring of contractual compliance requirements.
- Approve monthly progress claims submissions and approve subcontractor payments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new systems, particularly job costing systems and reports.
- Ensure Project teams have fulfilled all opportunities to maximize project margins through the identification of variations and contractual claims.
- Assist projects in minimizing project costs without compromising quality.
- Identify and manage project security to ensure the most cost effective security is provided in accordance with Head Contracts.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in a commercial role within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated competency in managing numerous construction contracts concurrently.
- Highly experienced in all construction contractual matters and excellent track record in Cost Management.
- Strong procurement skills and knowledge.
