The FirmOur client is a busy and flourishing commercial law firm. Due to a strong pipeline of work they are looking to a recruit an experienced lawyer at the Associate or Senior Lawyer or Senior Associate or even Special Counsel level who has expertise in commercial law and franchsing law.Clients of this commercial law firm include house-hold name franchisors and other major clients such as ASX-listed companies, major landlords, property developers, construction companies, associations, equity houses, high profile individuals, celebrities in the media and entertainment industries.The RoleAs an experienced lawyer in the commercial team, you will be running matters but also working collaboratively with other lawyers within the team.On a day to day basis, you will be drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements including franchising agreements, advising clients on applicable competition and consumer laws, advising clients generally in relation to issues that are faced by franchisors e.g. product distribution, pricing and supply issues. You will also be involved, from time to time, in M&A transactions, advising on IP rights, proving legal and commercial advice to clients who want to expand their brands locally and internationally.As an experienced member of the team you will get to play a role in client development. • At least 3 years pae in the area of commercial law
• Strong technical skills
• Commercial nous and not just be a black letter lawyer
• Strong communication skills and the ability to foster strong relationships
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a forward thinking and innovative way to deliver legal services
• Passion, drive, ambition and energy
