Our OpportunityWork Location: Port Hedland & Rail networkRoster: 8D/6R FIFO ex PerthThe Rail Communications team provides mission critical support to the Train Control, ITCS and Port/Rail radio networks. We have an opening for an Advanced Communications Technician working an 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth to Port Hedland
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and improve the Train Control System and supporting communications infrastructure
- Maintain and improve the Port and Rail TETRA radio networks and subscriber bases
- Calibration and maintenance of Rail asset protection devices
- Maintenance of all associated remote communications structures, grounds, and equipment
- Maintenance of the Rail onboard Positive Train Control system
Qualifications and Experience- Focus on safety
- Certificate IV in Telecommunications or equivalent
- Current WA C-Class Drivers Licence
- Good computer literacy, COMPTIA network+ or similar
- Experience with mobile, terrestrial radio networks, or optical networks
- Willingness to participate in an on call-roster
- Capacity for working at heights, rigger intermediate
- Previous experience in the Rail, Mining or Telecommunications industry will be highly regarded
